QUEEN fans get ready! Cineplex Entertainment has announced the premiere of the remastered "Queen Rock Montreal" concert in High Definition and 5.1 Digital Surround Sound on Wednesday October 17 exclusively at 53 select Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada.
"We are pleased to partner with Eagle Rock Entertainment to bring QUEEN to giant screens across Canada exclusively at select Cineplex Entertainment theatres," said Pat Marshall, Vice-President, Communications and Investor Relations, Cineplex Entertainment. "This performance makes you feel as if you are on stage with QUEEN when you combine our giant screens, stadium seats and Dolby Digital Surround Sound."
Advance tickets are now available online at www.cineplex.com as well as at participating theatre box offices. General Admission is $9.95 + tax.
The concert, originally shot in Montreal in 1981 at The Forum captured QUEEN like no other concert film. "Hello Montreal...long time no see. You wanna get crazy?" asks Freddie as the band tears into their alternate "fast" version of "We Will Rock You" and from there on QUEEN show their hard rock roots with such classics as "Play the Game", "Somebody to Love", "Under Pressure", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and more!
The "Queen Rock Montreal" DVD is set for an October 30 street date via Eagle Rock Entertainment, and will be released simultaneously in three separate formats — Standard DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Also slated for October 30 is a special 2-disc edition of the DVD called "Queen Rock Montreal + Live Aid", which includes the band's Live Aid performance from July 13, 1985 (regularly polled as the greatest live performance of all time), along with never-before-seen rehearsal footage and interviews.
To celebrate, Cineplex Entertainment is holding a Freddie Mercury Look-A-Like Contest! Dress up like Freddie Mercury at any of the Cineplex Entertainment presentations of "Queen Rock Montreal" on October 17 and you'll have the chance to win fantastic QUEEN prizes. The best dressed Freddie will be determined by the audience prior to the start of the concert.
