---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kenny Jones is probably best remembered internationally as the drummer with The Who, replacing Keith Moon in 1979, Jones toured and recorded two albums with the band until in 1982 The Who officially broke-up, reuniting in 1985 for Live Aid and again for a one-off performance in 1988.

However Kenny Jones tasted fame long before his days with The Who, recording 5 albums with Ron Wood and Rod Stewart in a band he founded called The Faces. The band was initially called The Small Faces founded in 1965, but changed their name after Steve Marriott the original singer/guitarist left the band in 69.

In 1968, before Rod Stewart and Ron Wood joined The Faces and the band still went by their old name of The Small Faces, they produced what is generally regarded as one of the all-time greatest albums Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake which is still in the Top 100 UK albums today. In 1968 when first released the album remained at #1 in the UK album charts for 19 weeks and in 2000 Q magazine placed Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake at number 59 in its list of the 100 Greatest British Albums Ever.

Musically Jones has given us a lot more, in 1990 he teamed up with ex Bad Company, Free and The Firm singer Paul Rodgers [Featured on this site] to form a band called “The Law”. Jones has also performed and recorded with, The Rolling Stones, Andy Fairweather Low, Joan Armatrading, Marsha Hunt, Mike Batt, Pete Townshend, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, David Essex, John Lodge, and the Wings.

Today Kenny Jones owns Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Surrey but is still close to his music, forming “The Jones Gang” in 2000 and releasing their debut album Any Day Now in 2005

Music ‘N’ Vision caught up with Mr. Kenny Jones for an exclusive interview which is to be broadcast here soon. Subscribe to our RSS feed and stay informed of the launch, which will be sometime in 2007.
